SEVEN years after turning his back on acting, Lost star Matthew Fox has finally revealed the reason he quit.
Honestly chatThe 55-year-old admitted to having a “bucket list” of things he wanted to accomplish in the business, and felt he had completed it by the time he made the 2014 horror western film Bone Tomahawk.
He added that he wants to spend more time in “re-engagement” with his family – wife Margherita and their children Byron and Kyle.
However, he was lured out of early retirement to appear in a new apocalyptic thriller TV series called Last Light, along with Joanne Froggatt.
Matthew gained fame as troubled surgeon Dr. Jack Shepherd in the 2004 film Lost and remained on the show until its 2010 finale – which was his last TV credit to date.
His performance earned him Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.
After losing, he landed film roles in We Are Marshall, alongside Matthew McConaughey, Vantage Point and World War Z.
In 2011, Matthew was charged with assaulting a bus driver while drunk in Cleveland, Ohio, while filming I, Alex Cross – a claim he vehemently denied.
Although police did not file a lawsuit, the woman involved decided to initiate civil proceedings, which she later withdrew after Matthew threatened a counterclaim for defamation and abuse.
Matthew continued Ellen DeGeneres show to publicly refute the accusations, admitting: “It was a very difficult year for me and my family … It’s hard to be accused of something you didn’t do.”
The incident seemed to spark an argument with his Lost series colleague Dominic Monaghan, who tweeted in 2012: “He beats women. No incidents are isolated. Often.”
Forced to defend himself again, Matthew wrote in Men’s Journal: “I’ve never hit a woman before. I’ve never, never will. But I think there will still be a lot of people who think that’s true no matter what.”

The actress played Kate Austin, a young woman who killed her violent father before the plane crash that started the series.

Evangeline later apologized for her comments, calling them “repulsive, arrogant and enigmatic.”
In January 2022, she joined the protest against the vaccine mandate in Canada. Writing on social media, she said: “No one should ever be forced to inject anything into their body, against their will.”
Josh, now 52, took advantage of his role as James ‘Sawyer’ Ford in The Lost to switch to acting after achieving success as a model for brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein.
After the series ended, he got a role in Tom Cruise’s film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
He has since enjoyed starring in the series Intelligence and Colony. He also had a recurring role in Season 3 of the Yellowstone Western Series.
He married longtime partner Yessica Kumala in 2004, proposed to her after filming the pilot for Lost, and welcomed the children of Java in 2009 and Hunter in 2014.
After his role as Boone Carlyle in The Lost, Ian became a fan of the teen show.
He spent nine years starring Damon Salvatore in Vampire Diaries, which he began producing in the third series.
Ian dated his colleague Nina Dobrev for three years until 2013. It was rumored that their breakup was the reason why she left the role of Katherine Pierce in the series.
In 2010, Ian was involved in a cleanup operation following the Deepwater Horizon oil drill disaster. In the same year, he launched the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to educate people about the importance of protecting animals and the environment.

During his stay in The Lost as Sayid Jarrah, British-American actor Naveen, now 53, spoke about his heroin addiction and alcoholism in the 1990s.
“I just loved alcohol and drugs,” he said, as an explanation in an interview with The Guardian 2008.
“Things that happen to you as a child, bad experiences, can inform you, but they don’t necessarily make you an alcoholic or a drug addict. You have to invest hours and work really hard on abuse.”
The actor said that he always managed to get rid of drugs and alcohol before work, and that in the end he became clean and sober at the age of 29.
At age 16, he began dating his math teacher, 30-year-old Geraldine Feakins, and moved in with her to avoid his “repressive” upbringing. The couple had a son seven years later, in 1992.
After divorcing Geraldine, he has been dating actress Barbara Hershey since 1998. While he briefly separated in 2005, he had a son with Czech-French actress Elena Eustache.

Emilie has established herself as an actress playing Claire Littleton’s pregnant accident survivor in Lost.
After the end of the show, she continued to appear in the films The Hills Have Eyes, Brick, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Remember Me, with Robert Pattinson.
In 2012, she got the role of Bella in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time. She was recently announced as Alex Molina in the new film Wreck.
Emilie had a difficult romance with fellow actor Josh Janowicz; they married in 2004, but separated after six months, before later reconciling.
Until 2009, they lived separately and filed for divorce, before reuniting after a vacation in Japan. But by 2013, everything was over and the couple filed for divorce, which passed.

Dominic was a famous actor when he got the role of Charlie Pace in the movie Lost, after he starred in The Lord of the Rings as the hobbit Mary.
During the series, he dated his colleague Evangeline, but the couple broke up in 2007.
The 45-year-old went on to star in the films X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Edge of the World.
He quarreled with Matthew Fox claiming that the other actor hit women during a rage in which Dominic revealed that he did not like his colleague from the series Lost.

South Korean actress Yunjin, now 48, became famous as Sun-Hwa Kwon on the show Lost.
After filming her final scenes, Kim married her former manager, Park Jeong-hyeoka, in March 2010.
Three years after the series ended, she joined ABC’s mystery series Mistresses as Dr. Karen Kim until 2016.
In 2018, she returned to Korean TV in the film Ms. Ma, Nemesis, and just three weeks ago she was announced as Seon Woojin in the Netflix spin-off show Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
Jorge, now 49, won legions of fans as Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes in The Lost and joined Once Upon A Time with several other members of the cast.
The year the show ended, Jorge appeared on Weezer’s album Hurley and later appeared on the band’s tour as a guest vocalist.
Continuing his acting career, he starred in the Fox series Alcatraz (another series about JJ Abrams), Hawaii Five-0 and the Netflix film The Ridiculous 6.
In 2022, Jorge competed in the seventh season of the American The Masked Singer as ‘Cyclops’ from the Bad team. He only reached the third week.
