Royal! Duchess Kate brought her fashion A-game during the platinum jubilee celebration – and paid tribute to both of them Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, has attracted the attention of fans since arriving at Buckingham Palace in a carriage on Thursday, June 2, to take part in the Trooping the Color parade.
The ceremony, which began four days of events in honor of the Queen’s 70 years on the British throne, served as a fashion show. Kate, for her part, was one of many members of the royal family who turned their heads, wearing a white Alexander McQueen dress with a coat, a white and navy blue hat with diamond sapphire gems as an accessory.
Kate’s all-white ensemble complemented a powdery blue coat and Her Majesty Angela Kelly’s dress with pearly details. The Duchess’s three children, Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4), with whom she shares Prince Williamthey all wore shades of blue to match their great-grandmother.
A lover of photography complemented her elegant Trooping the Color look with a subtle nod to her late mother-in-law, Diana. Kate wore diamond sapphire earrings from the Princess of Wales, which match the engagement ring of the mother of three she shared with Diana.
The next day, Kate was joined by her husband, 39, at St. Paul’s Cathedral at the Thanksgiving Service on Friday, June 3rd. The duchess turned her head again by choosing a wardrobe, deciding on a little color.
Kate wore a pale yellow dress with a tight waist Emilia Wickstead with a matching hat and Philip Treaty gloves. Eagle-eyed fans later noticed that the royal family complemented their look with a pair of queen earrings.
Us Weekly he had previously confirmed that the monarch would not attend the service after experiencing some discomfort in Trooping the Color. Her presence, however, was felt when Kate borrowed Elizabeth’s Bahrain Pearl Drop laces.
It is not strange for the Queen’s granddaughter to pay homage to her royal predecessors, often asking Elizabeth for instructions for her wardrobe. “Many of the things we see today as the Duchess of Cambridge are doing things she learned from the Queen,” the royal expert Bethan Holt exclusively told Us in April.
“Much of Kate’s love of skirts comes from the Queen,” Queen: 70 years of magnificent style said the author, noting that Her Majesty is “famously” known for “not liking women so much.”
