Ryan Gosling on Wednesday, the internet went wild, as the first pictures of the actor’s appearance in the upcoming film Barbie live were published on the internet.
Sporting a dazzling blonde and a belly in a denim vest – shirtless – the Canadian star looks unrecognizable after transforming into his character Ken.
In the now viral video, Ryan, 41, leans coldly on a bright pink cane and flashes a cheeky smile as he poses in jeans and underwear with his character’s name visible above his waist.
Just like the puppet, the Blue Valentine actor appears hairless with a six pack hard as a rock as he revives a children’s toy for an upcoming romantic comedy.

Barbie, directed by Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig, will also see actress Margot Robbie as the main character in a film based on Mattel’s toy line of the same name.
Ahead of the film’s release next year, Warner Bros. has released a series of promotional images of the cast – with Ryan’s transformation into a ‘blonde himba’ that the internet won’t go unnoticed.
“Ryan Gosling as Ken in #Barbie is actually perfect,” one Twitter the user said on Wednesday, with another addition: “Ryan Gosling as Ken can run me over !!!”
The third added, “Ryan gosling like himbo ken … he’ll crush it.”
Another noticed Ryan’s resemblance to a The island of love contestant, who wrote: “mixed reactions to Ryan Gosling as Ken, but for me it’s literally ken jdjdkfkfk like not ken dolls from my youth, but definitely ken dolls that I see in stores today as if they give everything ‘Can I pull you on talk? ”
Barbie, which is set to be released in July 2023, will also feature big names like Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon and Michael Cera.
Although we’ve only just seen Ryan shirtless as Ken, pictures of Margot as a cult doll were released earlier this year.
After her casting was confirmed in July 2019, the 32-year-old Wall Street actress Vuka continued to discuss how the film’s goal is to nullify expectations.
“We like things that look a little to the left of center. Something like Barbie where IP, just a name, people immediately have an idea: ‘Oh, Margot plays Barbie, I know what it is,’ but our goal is to be like, ‘Whatever to think, we will give you something completely different ‘, the actress explained to a Hollywood journalist.
“The thing you didn’t know you wanted. Now, can we really respect the IP and the fan base and surprise people? Because if we can do it all and provoke a thoughtful conversation, then we’re really shooting at all the cylinders.”
No details of the plot have been released so far, except that the actors and their characters have been confirmed.
