Royal fans have noticed new details in Queen’s appearance as she receives the special award

New images of the Queen have been released showing her receiving a special award from the Archbishop of Canterbury to commemorate her “tireless service” to the church – and royal admirers have noticed a change in her appearance.

Royal fans were thrilled to see the brand new images the queen who was awarded a special prize for her “tireless service” in the past 70 years.

They showed Her Majesty stands without a cane while she is given the Canterbury Cross to acknowledge her contribution to the Church of England during her long reign.

The 96-year-old head of state held a face-to-face audience with Archbishop of Canterbury at Windsor Castle yesterday to receive the award after the disappearance Royal Ascot last week.

And the royal observers quickly pointed out a new detail about the queen’s appearance in the pictures – her much shorter hairstyle.

The monarch’s hair seemed to be cut in a short elegant style – although it still had its own trademark curls.

It was written by a fan Twitter : “I’m so happy to see Her Majesty look so good and healthy. Beautiful clothes and I love her new hairstyle.”

While another said, “Her Majesty looks wonderful as always.”

Meanwhile, on Instagramone fan commented, “Your Majesty has a beautiful haircut!”

And another wrote, “The queen changed her hairstyle? I’ve never seen her wear such a short … beautiful dress.”

It is not known who gave the queen the latest new hairstyle. However, a close friend and helper of trust Angela Kelly discovered she had taken over the role of the queen’s hairdresser during isolation.

Angela, who has worked with the Queen since the early ’90s, has been tasked with washing and styling her boss’s hair every week in what’s called‘ Kelly’s Salon ’, she revealed in an updated version of her book The Other Side of the Coin.

She admits that for the first few weeks she was so terrified that she was shaking while working, and after that she always needed a “strong drink”.

But nothing was more stressful than the Monarch’s haircut for her public message to the nation, and she jokes that she needed “a whole bottle” after that.

And Angela was also tasked with cutting the Queen’s hair before the hair salons reopened.

She said: “Every time the queen was without a hat it was stressful because there was nowhere to hide, so I had to groom her perfect hair.”

During yesterday’s Queen’s appearance at the presentation, the Rev. Justin Welby presented the Queen with a small silver cross, inspired by a 9th-century Saxon brooch and containing a triquetra pattern, as a “heartfelt symbol” of church “love, loyalty and affection”.

It was a tribute to her extraordinary service to the Church of England and to her platinum jubilee.

The queen, who wore glasses and dressed in a cream dress decorated with a pattern of large pink flowers, was photographed standing while showing her the cross.

The monarch shook hands with the archbishop, who wore purple priestly robes, as he entered the Oak Room in Berkshire Castle.
