Supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell lead a host of British stars at the Platinum Jubilee pageant, which took place on the streets of London. The couple could be seen smiling and waving from the top of the bus to the floor celebrating the 1990s – part of a multitude of “decade” buses that represent every 10-year period of the Queen’s reign.
Other guests who appeared on the bus from the 90s were violinist Vanessa May, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, hairdresser Sam McKnight, model Erin O’Connor and Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, who was born in the mid-1990s. Double decker contained images from the decade that cover the pages – from Harry Potter books to advertising campaigns from the 90’s – set on the soundtrack of the hits Spice Girls and Oasis.
Moss wore a patriotic Union Jack blazer for the occasion, over a black dress with red heels by Vivienne Westwood, while Campbell opted for a beige strapless dress and sunglasses.

They were joined by other buses full of famous British faces – from the 1950s bus, led by Cliff Richard who sang; by the 1960s, with a host of British television stars from that period; 1970s, literal disco hits; 1980s, with skateboarders and breakdancers in shell suits; and the 2000s, which was a celebration of festival culture and Noughties sports heroes.
Other stars to appear in the cast include acting legend Joan Collins, designer Zandra Rhodes, model Twiggy and singer Ed Sheeran. The history of James Bond is also celebrated with a fleet of historic cars from the movies, with hundreds of dancers, musicians, acrobats and puppeteers in fantastic costumes.
The choice is divided into four acts; the first, ‘For the Queen and the Land’, consisted of a military parade attended by 1,750 people and 200 horses. The other three acts were ‘The Time of Our Lives’, ‘Let’s Celebrate’ and ‘Happy and Glorious’.
The royal family watched from the main seats in front of Buckingham Palace, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – along with Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Anne. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also noticed enjoying the action from the stands with their families.
The selection was the grand finale of a four-day official platinum jubilee event, which also included the annual Trooping of the Color, Thanksgiving service and a live Platinum Party concert held in front of Buckingham Palace.
