Travis McGivern, who was part of Depp’s security detail for nine years, also said he witnessed Heard throw a can of Red Bull at Depp.
Other shock allegations included that Heard called Depp a “f *** ing deadbeat dad” and a “f *** ing c ***.”
McGivern also claimed in his video testimony to the Fairfax, Virginia court on Monday that the actress once punched Depp in the face, giving him “a nice little shiner.”
“The initial look on his face kind of mirrored mine, kind of a look of shock,” McGivern told the court.
“My job is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of my clients, and I felt like I hadn’t done that.”
The punch is alleged to have occurred on March 23, 2015, at the couple’s Los Angeles home.
McGivern said Depp, who was left with a red and swollen face, did not retaliate when Heard allegedly punched him.
He added that Heard was regularly verbally abusive to Depp.
“You name it, she’s spewed it,” he said.
“When they would argue, she would try to prevent us from leaving, to the point where she held the elevator before, she’s physically tried to prevent Mr Depp from leaving by grabbing his arm or standing in front of him.”
Describing one argument he witnessed, McGivern said he saw “anger and yelling from both of them and at some point I witnessed Amber throw a Red Bull can that struck Mr Depp in the back.”
“At that point I moved closer to Mr Depp, I didn’t care that I was in the middle of their conversation, I just didn’t want my client getting hit with anything else,” he continued.
The security guard said Depp was verbally “giving as good as he got” at that point.
“He was angry and agitated. At one point Ms Heard threw something else, either a purse or some sort of bag, but I was able to knock it away so it didn’t hit him.
“At one point she spit at him.
“There was a lot of verbal vitriol from both of them.”
McGivern also talked about Depp’s drug use, saying he smoked marijuana every day but was always “chill” and “mellow” on the drug.
He said he had witnessed the actor take cocaine “a couple” of times but described Depp’s behavior on the drug as “calm.”
Also testifying for Depp was his talent manager Jack Whigham, who claimed the actor’s earning capacity was impacted by Heard’s 2018 Washington Post opinion piece in which she wrote that she was a victim of domestic violence, but without specifically naming Depp.
“After the op-ed it was impossible to get him a studio film, which is what we normally would have been focused on,” Whigham said.
Depp alleges he was dropped from the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise after Heard’s opinion piece was published.
“I was not successful in rescuing Pirates for Johnny, ”Whigham said.
The manager then went into detail about how much Johnny Depp earns per film.
Depp was paid $ 10 million for Murder on the Orient Express$ 8 million for City of Liesand he would have earned a cool $ 22.5 million had he filmed Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
Later on Monday, Amber Heard’s legal team began presenting their evidence.
Heard’s former nurse, Erin Falantai, told the court she had received text messages from the actress who showed her with a red and bruised face, The New York Post reports.
But she said she was “not an expert … I mean there’s color on her face in different areas, I don’t know what’s what.”
Falantai also provided a note detailing an incident in which she saw Heard bleeding from the lip, which the actress said was caused by Depp.
The trial continues.
