Jennifer Lopez mentioned her child Emma with the pronouns “they / they” as she introduced the 14-year-old to an audience in Los Angeles on Thursday.
“I ask them to sing with me all the time, but they won’t, so this is a very special occasion because they are very, very busy, busy and expensive,” said the Grammy winner, 52, while performing at the Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala. “They cost me when they came out.”
The lyricist continued to use gender-neutral pronouns, adding: “They are worth every penny because they are my favorite duet partner of all time. So, if you would please me. ”
Lopez and her child then delighted fans with a duet of Christine Perry’s song “A Thousand Years”.
Emme paired their bright pink shirt and shorts with a black hat and matching shoes, while their mom wore a turquoise outfit and a feather robe.
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer shares her 14-year-old and son Maximilian with her ex-husband Mark Anthony.
“You taught me the true meaning of life and you changed me forever in the most incredible way,” the Manhattan Maid star wrote at the time. “I just hope I can be half the blessing you’ve been in my life.”
She and Anthony have been together as Emma and Maximilian’s parents since they ended their 2014 divorce.
The 49-year-old actor, who shares Violet (16), Seraphina (13) and Samuel (10) with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, he knelt on one knee with a green diamond ring while Lopez was in the tub.
“It was the most romantic thing I could ever imagine,” Lopez told her newsletter subscribers about her engagement. “Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other.”
Dancer wished Affleck and her dad, David Lopez, Happy Father’s Day on Sunday, noticeably omit Anthony from her holiday honors.
“Happy Father’s Day to the most caring, pleasant, consistent and selfless dad ever”, Lopez he wrote via Instagram her fiancé.
