It comes after it was announced that the Island of Love will broadcast two series in 2023, and a significant winter series is returning to South Africa after a three-year absence.
The new series of the show will arrive on ITV2 and the new ITVX channel in the New Year, and in January a new group of Islanders will be seen going to South Africa in search of love and romance.
Meanwhile, in the summer of 2023, the meeting show will return to Mallorca in another eight weeks.
A significant debut winter series aired in January 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic – and was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp.
Plans for a second winter series have been postponed in 2021 due to pandemic concerns.
Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Communications and Controller, ITV2, said ‘Love Island has once again proved to be a favorite place for the nation to talk over the summer, and we are always delighted with the show’s continued influence and talkativeness among our younger audiences. So instead of just serving Summer of Love, we thought 2023 would be the Year of Love with two full series of shows. ‘
Mike Spencer, executive producer at Lifted Entertainment, said: ‘After eight great series, we are excited to be serving two servings of love in 2023, starting in January at a stunning new villa in South Africa. We can look forward to more romance, romance and everything in between as we embark on another epic year of love. ‘
