Is it ‘Amitabh Bachchan from the Violent Hindustan’? Fans in the picture of an Afghan refugee

Amitabh Bachchan was seen in the 2018 film Thugs of Hindustan with actors Amir Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, among others. On Tuesday, world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry shared a picture on Instagram; after which fans on social media compared the bearded old man in Steve’s photo to Amitabh’s character Khudabaksh in The Hindustani Violent. An Amitabhu-like man wore a soiled turban and goggles. Interestingly, the photo is from 2018, and then it was widely shared on social networks, after it was claimed that Amitabh was from the series Thugs of Hindostan. Although the old man looks strikingly like Amitabha, he is actually an Afghan refugee named Shabuz, who lives in Pakistan.

Sharing his photo, Steve wrote: “This portrait of Shabuza, an Afghan refugee living in Pakistan, reminds us of millions of displaced peoples around the world. Unprecedented humanitarian crises around the world have resulted in the largest number of refugees in history. One hundred million people have been displaced from their homes. We must all redouble our efforts to support these people, who are in a vulnerable and precarious situation through no fault of their own. ”

Within a day, the photo received more than 77,777 ‘likes’ on Instagram, including one of the actors of Concona Saint-Sharma. Many commented on the image, which is once again widely shared on social media platforms. While some praised the photographer for his ‘epic shot’, while one person wrote ‘another magic shot of a magician’, Desi fans couldn’t get past the old man’s resemblance to Amitabha.

One user wrote: “Why does the make-up look like Amitabh Bachchan?” Another commented, “Big B’s double.” One fan wrote, “I thought it was Amitabh Bachchan’s look for his next film!” One person also compared the Afghan refugee to Amitabh’s Mirza from the 2020 film Gulabo Sitabo, directed by Shoojit Sircar. “The appearance of Amitabha Bachchan in the film Gulabo Sitabo,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Amitabh will soon be seen in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, an upcoming fantasy adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. It will hit theaters on September 9, 2022. It stars, among others, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna.
