Harry Styles has collaborated with Gucci on a new collection of capsules.
The collaboration called Gucci HA HA HA arose from a long friendship between the singer and the creative director of the Italian label, Alessandro Michele.
The playful collection aims to define “the intersection of creative expression and the common perception of two different consciences”, it is stated in the press release.
The name HA HA HA represents the initials of both Style’s and Michele’s names, but it is also the onomatopoeic sound of laughter.
The collection is a symbol of Michele and Style’s friendship – they met at the head of Style’s solo career – with the fact that for a couple of years they ended many messages to each other with “hahaha”.
“The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone: I suggested making a‘ dream closet ’with him, starting with those little oddities that come together in children’s visions,” Michele said.
“In the end, we got a mix of aesthetics from the pop and bohemian of the 1970s to a revision of the image of a gentleman in the inverted memory of men’s tailoring.”
This inspiration is visible in the entire range, which includes jackets and coats in bright colors, wide pants, silk ties and bold patterns.
Additional accessories include a brown bow tie, white leather boots decorated with one red heart and a brown briefcase with a cowboy print.
“Harry has an amazing sense of fashion,” Michele added.
Observing his ability to combine clothing in a way that is unusual in relation to the required standards of taste and common sense and homogenizing appearance, I realized that styling looks is a generator of difference and power, such as his reactions to designs I created for him. which he always made his own; these reactions give me back the rush of freedom every time. ”
Other pieces in the collection include a double-breasted coat in the plaid color of the Prince of Wales, a shirt adorned with mother-of-pearl buttons and a patchwork leather bomber jacket.
Styles, who has long been praised for his eclectic, awkward sense of style, has opted for numerous Gucci looks throughout his career.
He made headlines shortly after setting the title at the Coachella Music Festival in April, when he arrived on stage wearing a fully sequined custom Gucci jumpsuit.
Stiles later wore a Gucci feather coat to perform with Lizzo, and metallic pink pants with a matching cowboy jacket.
Styles also attended the 2019 Met Gala along with Michele, and famously wore a Gucci dress on the cover American VogueDecember issue 2020
