Ewa Africa… a Nubian Renaissance is an extravagance of fashion performances that will celebrate outstanding local designer brands. The event will also highlight designers from Ghana.
Top designers at the June 26 show at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s include The Cloth, Lisa Faye Silks, Zadd and Eastman, Sean Griffith Perez Designs, Derron Atts, Naballah Chi, Nubian Experience, Harvey Robertson, Mark Eastman, Christique Clothing, Xoana Designs, African Suitcase, Indigenous Design by Dominique La Roche, Akillah Jaramogi, Afrodesiack, Euphoric Designs, DAV Originals, DAWW Creations and Heather Jones.
Ghanaian designers Faustina Ansong and Josephine Hayford will also present their fashion, according to a press release.
Some of the top entertainers of Trinidad and Tobago will complement the phenomenal designers. The lineup includes Vaughnette Bigford, Tobagonian revolutionary artist Xavier Edwardz, dance talent LaShaun Prescott and Deon Baptiste, award-winning spoken artist Zakiya Gill, Stacey Sobers and drum and performance ensemble, Wasafoli TT.
With an cast of more than 60 models, the production, directed by regional fashion impresario Richard Young, promises to be theatrically spectacular, the statement said.
Ewa Africa is a production of the Committee for the Support of Emancipation (ESCTT) and is aimed at promoting cultural self-confidence, amazing performance and creative excellence.
