Diverse Filipino fashion in one kaleidoscopic spectacle

DON CRISTOBAL celebrated 10 strong and glorious years in the fashion industry as a multi-talented designer, stylist and photographer.

At the show, viewers witnessed fashion creations, reputable brands and exemplary individuals who triumphed despite the upheavals and tests of the times. Cristobal’s catwalk show called “Pride: A Decade of Fashion” coincided with the 124th declaration of independence of the Philippines and the lively Pride Month of the LGBTQIA + community.

Held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, the exhibition presented collections of renowned and established names along with the following changes in Filipino fashion: Anna Fuentes Ligaya, Cathy Capistrano, Chico Estiva, Don Cristobal, Juliedan Vergara, Juvy Fantilanan, Kristoffer Tabili, Mika , Patty Valle, Roberth Gallardo and Shiela Fairytutu.

“The support and trust given to me by viewers, sponsors and colleagues was huge while I was holding the show with a bang,” Cristobal told Malaya Business Insight.

“I had over 90 collections that paraded on the runway. “While I prepared for that in a short time, the quality of every fashion piece is guaranteed,” he pointed out.

At first, Cristobal hesitated to lead the play because individuals have yet to recover from the current crisis, “But with God’s grace, as well as with the help of other people, I succeeded,” he noted.

“I want to dedicate this to every viewer, but also to designers who have yet to start their fashion career, in order to find inspiration for achieving their fashion goals,” he added.

“There are lessons to be learned every day. I want to share the learning I have gained from this ever-evolving competitive industry, ”he said.

Viewers can look forward to many pocket events. For example, he plans to bring his banig / jacket designs to the province, hold a fashion show and sell them there.

“Now we are talking about it, and the rug will be connected to the culture and traditions of the province.”

Crowne Plaza designed a designer cake for Cristobal. Inspired by the creations of a fashion designer, the cake was conceived by Gibeth Gloria, executive assistant manager of Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria.

“I told Don that since we have a lot of shows and we claim to be ‘Fashion Oasis in Manila’, I said why not use the design and turn it into a cake,” Gloria said.

“I always think it’s my swan song and I take comfort in the fact that these last pieces were made in the best possible way,” he said.

The Don Cristobal Runway Show Season 10 was presented by Team DC Manila Productions, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, SunSmart Solar Power Technology Inc., Scene Zone Magazine, Aphrodite Aesthetics Skincare and Medical Clinic.

The host was Angelee de los Reyes, and directed by Raymund Ramirez Seranillo in partnership with Mplify.
