Britain’s Got Talent has declared Axel Blake the winner for 2022!

The comedian was speechless after Ant and Dec announced his name, saying, “I’m shaking, thank you all for voting for me … I can’t believe it.”

Singer Tom Ball and ventriloquist Jamie Leahey – and his puppet Chuck the chicken – both entered the top three but missed out on the title.

Axel will take home a whopping £ 250,000 as well as the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

The comedian (33) made a number of jokes during his incredible final performance, including hearing a member of the public replace him with a rapper Stormzybut with extra weight.

He also joked that the intensity of cyclists in London forced him to give up the sport, but to continue with his dance moves, which he demonstrated on stage.

Simon Cowell, who gave the comedian his golden buzzer during the audition round, said he was emotional towards Blake after the routine.

He added: ‘I really believe we have discovered the star.’

David Walliams added that this was a ‘winning performance’ and that he believes he will be ‘rushing’ to the Royal Variety Performance.

10 finalists battled for the win, and Axel, Maxwell Thorpe, Jamie Leahey, Ben Nickless, Flintz and T4ylor, Tom Ball, Eva Abley, Loren Allred, 5 Star Boys and Aneeshwar Kunchala were all with chances.

It was a tense night, with the judges Simon CowellAmanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams love the performances.

Meanwhile, Amber and the Dancing Collies, who delighted the judges during their audition, have returned as a joker.

The Dutch performer and her jumping puppies lost their place in the final and took third place during their round, but were returned to compete in the final.

Britain’s Got Talent is available to follow on the ITV Hub.
