I’m talking to GQ For the new title story, the actor says that he realized that he could not only reduce them, but that he had to give up completely. “I don’t have that ability to work only one or two a day,” he told the publication. “It’s not in my makeup. I’m in everything. And I’m going to crash into the ground. I’ve lost my privileges.”
“I’m just at the age when nothing good comes out of it,” he added.

Pitt also briefly commented on going to Alcoholics Anonymous for a year and a half after Jolie filed for divorce.
“I had a very cool male group here that was really private and selective, so it was safe,” he explained. “Because I’ve seen other people’s stuff taken while they spilled, and it’s just awful for me.”
During an extensive interview, the actor reveals that he believes he has prosopagnosia, better known as facial blindness – which is why he struggles to remember people he has already met at parties. He also talks a lot about loneliness and depression.
“I’ve always felt very alone in my life. I grew up alone as a child, I’m even here, and in fact I’ve only recently had a bigger hug from my friends and family,” he said. “What a line, whether it’s either Rilke or Einstein, believe it or not, but it was something about when you can walk with paradox, when you carry real pain and real joy at the same time, this is maturity, this is growth.”
“I always moved with the currents, floating in one way or another,” he continued. “I think I spent years with low-grade depression, and it wasn’t until I came to terms with it, trying to embrace all sides of myself – beauty and ugliness – that I was able to capture those moments of joy.”
Speaking vaguely about his future and creative career, Pitt said, “I consider myself on my last foot, in this last semester or quarter” – and wondered, “What will this section be? And how do I want to design it?”

He also said hilariously that one of the things that preoccupied him somewhat was the search for gold on his Château Miraval estate in Provence, France – after he was told that millions of dollars worth of gold were hidden in his territory during the Crusades.
“I was obsessed. For a year, this was all I could think about, just the excitement of it all,” said Pitt, who reportedly searched the property with radar equipment without success. “Maybe it has something to do with where I grew up, because there have always been stories in the Ozark Mountains of hidden gold reserves.”
He said he ended up feeling “pretty stupid” after the man who told him about the hidden mule was just trying to secure an investment from Pitt. “Just hunting was exciting,” he added.
