So far RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars 7 she was one for books, full of talented, past winners, and tons of stunning fashion. The long-awaited season of “All Winners” premiered late last month, May 20, and includes favorite fans, Jinkx Monsoon, Shea Couleé and Jaida Essence Hall. RPDR devotees remember the unique journeys that led each of the 8 queens to compete in this particular section All-Stars.
Since the show’s humble start in 2009, the reality TV giant has undergone many changes, including networks, formats and judges. While RPDR AS7 promising great performances by famous guest judges such as fashion designer Betsey Johnson and List A actress Cameron Diaz, the show’s history has proven that it hasn’t always hired the most beloved or capable celebrities to join Mama Ru on the jury.
Former E’s manager SoupJoel McHale joined Drag Race the jury in the episode of the 11th season called “Trump: Rusical”. To the great astonishment of the regular judge, Michelle Visage, McHale was brave, loud and hyper during part of the challenge on the track. Michelle fired a few furious glances in McHale’s direction as he cheered, at the stadium, for each of his favorites.
Drag Race fans never agreed on Joel McHale’s appearance as a guest referee. Some viewers shared with Michelle the agony while McHale acted like a fraternity boy, while other viewers loved being expressive and genuinely enjoyed his role. Like it or hate it, Joel McHale’s time as a judge certainly caused a sensation.
While any number of offenses can exclude the dedicated RPDR fans, sometimes a guest judge can be brief because he simply shows a lack of knowledge of the show. In episode 9 of the season, in which the Queens fried Michelle Visage, Alexis Michelle bravely put on green full-body makeup and a green dress to laugh at Visage’s long-shown aversion to that color. Alexis Michelle’s decision to be green was obvious to everyone except the guest judge, Tamar Braxton.
As a music star, a reality TV star and with a personality bigger than life, fans have long awaited Braxton’s turnaround as a famous guest judge. While she did a decent job of providing criticism, the fact that the long-running joke about “anti-greens” didn’t fall on Braxton created an awkward moment. Braxton was also probably misplaced in the baking episode because she didn’t seem to enjoy being the subject of any contestants’ jokes.
Eccentric actor Jeff Goldblum appeared in the 12th season as a guest judge and moderator in the episode with political topics “Elections 2020.” Goldblum’s participation in the challenge helped create one of them Drag RaceHis most striking phrases as he hilariously fell on the distracting calls of Jaide Essence Hall to “look over there!” Goldblum was a fun addition to the early part of the episode, but his questions about Jackie Cox’s appearance on the runway sparked controversy.
RPDR fans will remember the breathtaking hijab and Jackie Cox dress with a “Stars and Stripes” theme that shone down the runway. Assessing the ensemble, Goldblum clumsily questioned Jackie Cox about how the Islamic religion could approach topics such as sexual orientation. Fans were upset because they felt it was not fair for Goldblum to single out Islam as discriminatory, while many other religions have a long history of LGBTQ + discrimination.
Gigi Hadid and Chanel Iman
A unique blend of humor and fashion that makes RuPaulova Drag Race a mega-hit is not for everyone. In the “Snatch Game” episode of season 8, professional fashion models, Gigi Hadid and Chanel Iman, joined the queens as contestants and guest judges. The parody in the game that season featured imitations of old-timers, including Diana Vreeland and Carol Channing.
Hadid and Iman were equally lost in the “Snatch Game” domain and in the panel of judges. Although these two women have a lot of experience in the fashion industry, it seemed that they did not manage to fight for a playful opportunity that was RuPaulova Drag Race. They were both a little emotional, and fans were surprised when Gigi Hadid admitted she didn’t know drag queens often wear hip pads. Iman and Hadid could have been better prepared, their performances pointing to a lack of basic knowledge about gems and knowledge of the show.
Viewers consider it one of the best seasons Drag Race, season 5 offered some of the strongest queens of the series and the most interesting challenges. A particularly memorable episode called “Scent of a Drag Queen” had queens compete to create an eye-catching perfume commercial. Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day has jumped in to help the queens record their commercials and offer criticism at their runway presentations.
O’Day’s appearance in the fifth season episode is best remembered for her harsh criticism of competitors ’commercials and their handmade perfume fabrications. The singer was unnecessarily abrasive and often made dissatisfied, wrinkled faces while the queens did their best to deliver fun performances. O’Day’s antics were exaggerated and distracted from the fun of brand building challenges.
Shania Twain finally made it Drag Race debut in the 10th season of the original franchise, but its long-awaited appearance did not go as expected. Man! Singer I Feel Like a Woman was a guest judge on the “Bossy Rossy Show” episode in which the Queens improvised wild talk show scenes. The runway of the episode paid tribute to the singer’s country roots while the queens wore their best look “denim and diamonds”.
With a legion of LGBTQ + fans, Twain was expected to shine as a guest referee, but she fell and looked a little out of her element. Twain showed no signs of visible enthusiasm and did not react when Cameron Michaels shimmered with emotion and admitted that the singer had greatly inspired her. Twain certainly didn’t impress Drag Race a lot of fans and no one seems to be asking to rejoin the show soon.
Season 10 of RPDR prominent 13 reasons why actor Miles Heizer as the famous guest judge in the episode “Kings of Social Media in Queens” together with the powerful singer Lizzo. He had the challenge of transforming the season Drag Race the queens transform the mavericks of social media into members of their own drag family. The contestants in the makeover had tangible energy, but there seemed to be no enthusiasm at Heizer’s end of the judges ’table.
Miles Heizer’s turnaround as a judge was considered one of the famous guest referee’s worst performances due to his lack of expression, and fans noted that he does not seem to enjoy his duties as a guest referee. His dead reactions only seemed more inappropriate because of the lush personality of his fellow guest judge, Lizzo.
Fans from previous seasons RuPaulova Drag Race will remember that the show was originally sponsored by Absolut Vodka. In addition to some of the main hints of the alcohol brand that crept through the first seasons, the show often used the CEO of branding, Jeffrey Moran. The CEO of Absolut has appeared as a judge in search of memorable episodes like “Absolut Drag Ball” of the first season.
While Moran had several RPDR appearances in his biography, the sheer volume of his participation did not compensate for his rigid demeanor and stubborn brands. Even in its earliest existence, Drag Race has always been a playful and witty series, and Jeffrey Moran’s nonsense judging technique never quite matched the feel of the series.
Most famous guest judges do their best to present glamor and style RPDR panel, but Meghan Trainor is a unicorn of a different color. Viewers who watched the episode of season 9 were surprised to see the singer of “All About That Bass” dressed in a jumpsuit with a pajama-like unicorn theme. The clothes were poorly received and Drag Race fans quickly called the clothes the worst in the show’s jury history.
While most of the famous judges are trying to respect the show’s high-voltage glam aesthetics, Meghan Trainor has instead decided to stick to the famous. Fans found Coach’s decision to wear a T-shirt lazy and was surprising despite the fact that she chose to wear a similar T-shirt Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon. Despite Clear Trainor’s penchant for animal-themed pajamas, Drag Race the audience still hasn’t forgiven her for wearing this ensemble.
